Nothing makes sense here

Yesterday, Fatai was filling our car up with gas at the gas station and he was pulling out. Another man, driving a pick-up truck, hit our car and then drove away. Fatai was mad that the mad didn't stop, so he chased the man in our car (no one else was in the car with him) and was able to make the other man stop. When Fatai stopped the man, he called security who in turn called the police. All of the men went to the police station (a place I am told no one wants to go), and I really don't know what happened there. The accident was the other man's fault ,and he was not current on any of his registration. Fatai was at the police station from 3 -7:30 p.m. And, the real kicker is that our car is being held at the police station and no one can seem to tell us why. Today, our car is still at the police station, and Fatai doesn't think we will get it back by tomorrow. He told us the lady police officer who is working on our car accident came to work today at 8 a.m. and was supposed to be there at 7 a.m., so the other policemen locked her out and wouldn't let her come in to work at all!!???? How weird is that? Oh well...I am finding it hard to make sense of alot of things in this country.:)
